Categories (Each participant can only join one category)

• Family Category

  For P.3 or lower form students of any registered primary school in Hong Kong and their parents (maximum 3 persons per team)

• Senior Primary School Category

  For P.4 to P.6 students of any registered primary school in Hong Kong

• Secondary School Category

  For students of any registered secondary school in Hong Kong

• Open Category

  For Hong Kong residents

Submission of Entries

• Participants could complete and submit the online entry form after clicking the "Join Now" button of this website.

• Participants could complete the entry form collected from any of the following locations and answer the questions therein according to the respective category (Family, Senior Primary School, Secondary School & Open Categories). Photocopies of the entry form are acceptable.
  • Civic Education Resource Centre (Address: 7/F, Youth Square, 238 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan, Hong Kong)
  • General Office of the schools
  • Home Affairs Enquiry Centres under the District Offices
  • Hong Kong Economic Times (Address: 8/F, Kodak House II, 321 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong)
• Participants who have answered all 20 questions of the quiz will have the chance of receiving a souvenir (while stock lasts). Participants with the most number of correct answers will be selected by lot to attend the Final Competition.

Rules

• Each participant should only join the competition once (including Family Category) on an individual basis (excluding Family Category). For participants who make more than one submission, only the first submission will be valid and all subsequent submissions will not be considered.
• In case of any dispute, the decision of the organiser will be final and binding on all parties concerned.
• The organiser reserves the right to amend the rules of the competition.
• Participants will be deemed to have accepted and bound by all rules of the competition by submitting the entry form.

Deadline

• Completed entry form must be submitted to Hong Kong Economic Times, 8/F, Kodak House II, 321 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong by post or in person on or before 21 February 2020 (postmark date) with "Basic Law Quiz Competition" marked on the envelope. Participants may also log into www.cpce.gov.hk/basiclaw2019-20 to complete the entry form and answer the questions therein online by 11:59 p.m. on 21 February 2020 the latest (based on the time of the event website system). Late submissions will not be considered.

• Participants with the most number of correct answers and selected by lot will be notified to attend the Final-cum-Prize Presentation Ceremony.
